Seeing Stuff I have Dehoarded In the Shop
When I first started dehoarding, and started donating stuff to charity shops, I worried about how I would feel when I was then browsing in those same charity shops, if I saw something I had donated for sale. Would I want to buy it back? Would I feel the loss of that item?
Well, after months of donating, and months of still browsing the shops, I can tell you that when I see items I have donated for sale, it feels REALLY GOOD!
Firstly, I feel proud that I got rid of that item. Secondly, I look at the price tag and feel proud that my stuff is going to give a charity £2 or £5 or £10. To help fund a hospice or cure cancer! Thirdly, I feel glad that that item is ultimately going to go to somebody who actually wants it and will use it, rather than it just sitting in a pile of junk in my house.
So, if you are having any doubts about whether you could cope with seeing items that were previously yours for sale elsewhere, I say go for it. It actually feels great!
